Question:  What is a Barong?

 

Answer: Barong – This is a Balinese character not found in India.  The Barongs in Bali are sacred and are the protectors of villages and people.  Often when illness or problems with witches “leak”, pronounced (lay ak), the Barong is summoned to dance to chase the Leak away and breaking their spells.
